There are several required preparation stages before selling the walnut, as well as some at the request of the client. Our production has all the necessary equipment for the preparation of walnuts. Watch the video, as it happens in action, in the production section.
The first obligatory step is to calibrate the walnuts in size. The most popular calibers of walnuts are 28+ and 30+ and the calibers under 28 and 32+ we use rarely. The size of the walnut is selected using a calibrator. The walnut is loaded into the calibrator, after that it starts, the drum starts to rotate, and the walnut enters the appropriate department.
The walnut is sorted after the calibration process. For this process, we use a sorting tape, in the service of which about 20 employees can participate simultaneously. Such manual work allows you to remove carefully the illiquid walnuts: broken, rotten, black
Further on the customer’s request, the walnut is washed. Washing is done using exclusively food-grade chemicals. Of course, the advantage of walnut washing is a beautiful presentation. But a significant disadvantage is that this leads to a rise in the price of the product.
Drying is another stage in the preparation of the walnut. This is an obligatory process after washing or at the beginning of the harvest season. As a rule, the first walnut in the season contains up to 20% of excessive moisture. The drying process is long enough and very important, because it depends on the future quality of the walnut. We use special drying boxes in our production, where walnut drying takes place under the flow of hot and cold air. At the same time it is possible to load about 5 tons of walnut, it takes about 7-8 hours to fully dry. After all these processes, the walnut is packed into the bags.
Separately, under the request of the buyer, we prepare a mixture of calibers in any ratio. For example, one order of walnuts can contain 30% of 28+ caliber and 70% of 30+ caliber.
